EVALUATION

For this project titled 'Film Festival' we were given a choice of two different scripts and were told to create a short film following whichever script we chose. This was the 3rd project out of 4 and we started working on it in February 2021. The people involved within this project were me and my father. My father helped me with adopting the role as the figure in the background and my friend on my phone, where as my role was being the main character within the script. I also am the one responsible for all the filming, editing and overall production. in other words i was the director.

My thoughts at the time were very negative, this is because the entirety of the project was done from home and for me that is one of weakest traits. I believe when i am at home i do not do much work and my work ethic drops jurasticaly. As a result of this, i did not manage to reach the deadline on time. However, i finally managed to complete the project and my thoughts became positive which gave me motivation to make my next project the best one yet. my father helped me a lot as he was the one who got involved which made me start to work harder and get the project completed.

In terms of what went well with the project, the final video was edited and put together very well with the audio being very crisp and clear and synced together with the visuals elements perfectly. However, the quality of the video was not the greatest and could be improved for next time. My time management was also very poor as i did not meet the deadline on time. i had a good experience overall as it has taught me many different skills such as editing, soundscape, syncing audio, SFX, etc. It also taught me to take my time management seriously and make sure my future projects are completed on time.

Within this project, some things went right where as others went wrong. The things that went right where that, the overall final edit was all edited and synced together perfectly in terms of the audio and visuals elements. This is because i spent a lot of time editing it together to make sure that it was perfect. However, things that went wrong was that the project was not completed on time, this is because i had poor time management throughout the duration of the project.

In conclusion, i have realised that time management is extremely important when it comes to these projects and it has finally sunk in that i need to keep on top of things and not get behind on future projects. Also, i need to make sure i use an actual proper camera to film next time instead of my phone to get a better quality video. Overall, i have learnt how to make a short film, create a soundscape and sync audio and editing together.
